Kampung Subang.

Was at Kampung Subang today. I seldom go there since I moved to KLIA. SO I decided to go to Maxiss for lunch. I always liked the Fried Kuey Teow done by the auntie there. It has been ages since I had it. Since today I was there, why not try it. Long time ago the auntie's son use fry the noodles but somehow it wasn't the same as his mum's cooking. I ordered a large plate. It was a bit too large. It was somewhat disappointing as I remembered it tasted better before. It's has less flavour now. Maybe the auntie is loosing her touch? I figured it maybe because I ordered a big plate. From experience I seem to find smaller plates of Kuey teow nicer. Maybe it's the estimation of the portions of ingrediences that makes the difference. Well it will be sometime before I go and try it again.

Lunch, Thai Food SS2.

Had Thai food with my class mate in SS2. We were at Sweet Basil Restaurant. We ordered lots of food. There were 14 of us so we ordered 10 dishes. I couldn't manage to take pictures of all of them as we were running late during lunch and we had to start the class by 2 pm so the food was pounced at it was served. The restaurant serves Thai food. We ordered two fishes, loads of vegetables, green curry, tauhu and pandan chicken. It was a good get together lunch among the class mates.

SS2 morning market.

Before my class today, I had a stroll in the SS2 market. Not been inside for a while now so I made my way to the Wan Tan Mee stall at the end of the market. I remembered it was pretty good. To my dissapointment, the quality of the noodles had dropped from the last time I ate it. I wandered among the crowd and took a few shots of the hawker food available there. Very much the simple morning breakfast fare. Nothing interesting. I did however notice that there were a few stalls selling Yau Char Kwai. Must be good business as I counted three and they were all situated very near with each other.
I had to leave early as my class was starting soon. So made a quick get way to my class.

Baskin Robbins.

Bought 2 ice cream cakes from Baskin Robbins for the staff in the office. One courtesy of myself and the other from Yeow (another office colleague) as both of us had just recently have new borns. Pink shoes from me and blue shoes from him. The ice cream flavour was pistahio and coffee. I was one of the better ice crea, cakes I had in a long time. Previous ice cream cakes only had a thin layer of ice cream but this one had 80% more ice cream than cake. You pay for quality!! It cost RM130 per cake.I was very hard to cut thru the cake though when serving it. We had to let it melt a bit before we can proceed with cutting it.
Next time I will try the double layered ice cream cake . Bet that will be a treat!!!

Cheong Wah Puchong.

Had Isabel's full moon dinner at Cheong Wah Restaurant with the family. It I made the bookings earlier in the week because as we arrived the place was jammed packed with customers. I never expected this place to be so crowded. Maybe it was a Saturday night. We ordered ala carte but the service was pretty slow. Maybe is because of the crowd. I managed to take some photos of the dishes but forgot half way as I was pre-occupied with other things. I posted some of the photos below. The marmite pork was the best of the lot. Overall the food was good and the portions are big, so complains there. I didn't enjoy some of the dishes, maybe I didn't order the correct one.
Next time I would try something else and on other days when it not so busy at this place.

Isabel's Full Moon.

Today's is Isabel's full moon. I didn't have anything special planned but only some prayer sessions done by my mum. We had a small dinner among the family members at a restaurant in Puchong. Isabel is growing fast and time also fly fast for her parents. It felt like just yesterday that she was born. We are getting very old.
Happy Full Moon Isabel!!!

Fast asleep in her pram.

KFC for lunch.

Been having abit too much fast food than normal these days. Maybe I have not had it for a few months and been itching to have them. Withdrawal symptoms? Could be. Or it could be all that old in the food that is drawing me back to them. One things for sure, I just love chicken. Almost all sorts of chicken be it roasted to fried or to steam. I can eat this meat everyday. So it wasn't so difficult to decide on what's for lunch today. Drove by the Petronas to refill the car and popped in to buy the Dinner plate.
Took it home and finished it to the bone. I savour every bite of it. However I believe it didn't do my collestrol level any good. The post meal regret. So more exercise tonight to burn it off.

Four weeks old.

Today Isabel is 4 weeks old. 2 days short of a month. Was at SJMC for her check up and 2nd hep B jab. She is now 4.2kgs. Doctor says she is growing nicely within the curves that he showed me. She was given a clean bill of health today except for her cries when she got her jab. She will be celebrating her full moon in two days. Hope to take more pictures then.

Big Breakfast.

I was at McD's recently to have breakfast. I not had thier big breakfast for a long time so I decided to take some photos of it. I think among all the breaksfast meals they have this is my favourite. I just love the hash browns. One of the best thing about McD is that they can produce the same tasting product where ever they can be, so I do not need to explain how it taste. I just love to go to McD once and a while to rekindle my younger days where I can eat there and not put on weight.

Class Resumes.

This weekend was the start of my class for the DBA after a long two month break. It was hard getting to class on the weekends. But it was interesting. As usualy lecturers and professors from Newcastle give better lectures than local ones. This course prepares us for the final dessertation and there's lots of work to do. I think this year I will be totally flat out at work, baby, wife and DBA. There goes my social life...

Haji Samuri Satay, Elite Highway Rest stop.

On the way back from work today I decide to stop at the rest stop just before the Putrajaya turnoff at the Elite highway. Went direct to the Haji Samuri satay establishment to buy some satay. They have various variety of meat including venison, mutton and rabbit. I tried all of them, the best so far was the venison. Nice and tender. Anyway, the best thing about this place is the peanut sauce that they serve. It is what makes them famous I guess. But I must say it's very sweet. Must be the added sugar in it. This had stopped me from buying it very often but when I do get the satay I enjoy very drop of the sauce. I too ordered the nasi himpit (I call it compress rice) to go with the satay and had it to go. I had the one of the most enjoyable dinner at home today.

Nasi Himpit.

Cempaka Deli.

Was at bandar Baru Nilai for lunch today. Ended up in Cempaka Deli which is one of the chinese coffee shops in BBN. There nothing much special on offer there but the wan tan mee is nice. I normally have it with dry curry. It comes in three sizes ie. small, medium and large. I ordered the medium today but I found it a bit too much for me. I finished it but not without suffering from a bloated stomach on the drive back to work.
Cempaka Deli is located on the ouskirts of BBN near the Cempaka flats. Its one of the coffee shops in BBN that serves decent food. Nothing else in BBN seem to attract me nowadays.

Nasi Ayam Ayamas.

Was on the way today in the afternoon from KLIA to Subang for a meeting. Decided to leave the office early to go for lunch around USJ. So I took the route via Dengkil to Putrajaya to LDP Puchong to reach Subang. As I was passing Putrajaya just before the LDP Puchong toll I saw the ESSO station with the Ayamas sign. I thought why not have chicken for lunch. The sign is very much hidden as you can only see the petrol station from the highway. It's only that you drive into the place you know that there is a signage for Ayamas. The Ayamas turned out to be a small kiosk operated inside ESSO. Not much of choices there but since I was there what the heck. I had not had Ayamas chicken for sometime now I decided to have lunch there plus I was very hungry.
Ordered the ayam percik with rice. What i always enjoyed about Ayamas is that their chilly sauce is among the best I had tasted. I guess there is lots of lime and sugar in it to make it tasty. The meal was fair. Very standard fast food and only valued at RM5.50. I thought it was pretty decent for something fast. Next time when I am at any Ayamas outlet, I just get the chicken and the chilly sauce only.

Lunch at Loong Foo again...

After another few days leave I took last week, I started work again today. Since it's my first day at work decided to join the rest for lunch at Loong Foo at Salak Town again. This time I remembered to take a photo of the shop. Not many customers was there for lunch so my order was quick to come. I had the "kung poh" tauhu with egg. It was ok.
Since this is my normal haunt for lunch while I am work, I think I should be eating here the next few days as I was away from work for a while until I get bored of the place again. It will be a busy week ahead for me so I need all the good food I can get.

Breakfast at Putra Heights.

Near my residence there is this Penang Nasi Kandar shop that I always frequent. Normal mamak fare, nothing much special on offer. I have my normal tea or coffee there always. However I love their dhal and fish curry that goes well with the roti. Its better if you request for a combination of both of the curry. I normally go for the "banjir" just because of that so I can taste the curry. At least there is something tasty there.

IKEA Curry Puff.

Was at IKEA today for some shopping for the baby. Getting some toys. IKEA was on sale. After some window shppoing I decide to buy the also so famous IKEA curry puff. The one an only curry puff that is baked and not fried. I not seen any curry puff prepared like this anywhere in Klang Valley yet. They are sold individually or in half dozens. This is one of the better curry puffs in town. They are not too oily and does not leave a heavy after taste.
Due to the high turnover, the puffs are freshly made. I have not got any stale ones since I started buying them years ago. This is definately one of the attractions why I go to IKEA. other than the furniture of course. I shall try my other favourite from there on my next visit, which is the hot dog.

Kept Warm.

Smaland, the easily recognisable packaging.
