Late Dinner..

Decided to go to Carrefour Subang Jaya in the afternoon for some shopping after my swim at 3K. Me and my wife stumbled upon a LG 29" CTV on sale RM 799. My wife wanted it... Aiyaaa!!! had to buy la... there goes my extra money for savings this month (as if i had any savings in the first place)... The saleman took my phone number and he will call onces there is available stock.. hope he doesn't call..He! He! He!..

Anyway had a late dinner at big plate located at Kampung Melayu Subang in Shah Alam. The last time I was there was more than 10 years ago. The place now as expanded and now occupies 3 shops. They only had tow shops as I remembered correctly. Ordered the Langkawi Chowder, Big Plate Steaks and the Salmon. Boy!! The servings were huge. The Langkawi chowder was serve into a bread bun. I was surprise that the chowder didn't leak out. The mains comes with a generous serving of sides dishes of vegetables and potatoes with lots of gravy. My wife and I had a scrumpcious meal. It will be difficult to sleep with this large dinner in our stomachs.

Was at Ikea for dinner today with the wife. I had the beef meatballs and she had the spaghetti balognese. Not too bad if you like beef (I eat almost anything). It has the pure meaty taste, no spices or other condiments added into it. The spaghetti was ok. I tasted pretty normal to me. Both the servings were very generous, the meat balls comes in 10s or 15s in case you were wondering.

Picturistic Day!!!

It all started when i decided to bring my digital camera out today. I ended up taking a few pictures of my meal and around town. I also started to swim today as part of my rehabilitation after my operation. Went to Komplek 3K in the afternoon. I must say its been a long time since i last swam or exercise, I was out of breathe!!! I shall try to go everyday as I am free till next week.

My first picture was when i took my wife to the clinic desa for a routine check-up in Puchong. Nope baby not due yet. My wife is still not complaining of any pain yet. just a waiting game for us now.

Later we had lunch at Gaint in USJ. My favourite Teow Chew Chendol was my take for the afternoon. Seriously, this is one of the better cendols I had in K.L. or P.J. except for the ones you get in Penang. Its a bit too sweet but the coconut milk is not too rich and the balance is just nice. Highly recommended.

Later in the evening, we decided to take a drive to IJN where my boss was warded. He will be having a heart bypass this coming Wednesday. I took this picture of the twin towers while on the way there. Been passing the towers for years but this is the first time I actually took a snap of it.

After IJN, then to Sunway Pyramid. My wife wanted to see the street lighted up at night. Had a few shots of the street. Its more impressive when you there in person.

Stitches.

Today is my first follow-up with Dr.Muthu in SJMC after the operation. My right leg still feels numb at certain places. Dr.Muthu says the numbess will go away slowly. I hope he is right. I 'm much better now and this is only one week after the operation. However my right leg is still weak. I was advised to exercise more to return my leg to it's original comdition. Swimming and low impact sports was recommended. I also had my stitches removed to at SJMC. There were 5 stitches in all. It should leave a small scare at my lower back. My MC is still to the 10 of Feb. Another two weeks to go....

wife's bored!!

My wife is bored! Bored of sitting around the house waiting. The baby not here yet, I guess she is restless sitting at home. I think she want to return to work ASAP after child birth. Not been able to keep her occupied for long, I too need to my thing!!! I shall keep her busy with a few task next week to keep her mind occupied with some chores.





Was at the SS2 Chow Yang pasar malam last thursday. As it was after my operation, I am not suppose to eat anything sour or poisonous. Some how it will affect my wound. I however did see the largest pau in my life. The Yip Chee Mei "Tai Pau". Boy it was big!! But it tasted pretty ordinary. Saw my favourite fried chicken but did not buy. Maybe next week.

What to do?

Today I woke up wondering what am I going to do for the rest of the day. Finally drove to KLIA to settle some matters with regards to the medical centre and HR. Drove my car all the way to KLIA, never realise how uncomfortable my car is when on long distance drive. The seat must be too low.



Nope still no baby yet today. Everytime my wife makes some noise, I get jumpy when my wife says pain.... I guess when she is almost 38 weeks you then to feel uncomfortable with the baby inside you. Tomorrow will be the doctor's appointment. I wonder what will the doctor say.



Had the most unhealthest lunch ever ay McDonalds. Been putting on weight lately. Without exercise it also impossible to reduce weight. This dics operation i had last week also did not help matters. My right leg outer sole is still weak and numb. The S1 nerve must have been really damaged by the prolapsed dics. Hope it will get better soon.



Managed to get some of my Chinese Characters learnt in the evening. Hope to keep the momentum going while I am on this long MC.



I also took some photos of the lotus plant which flowered the last few day. I don't think it will last for more than a few days so I thought I had it documentated in the morning and in the evenings. The flower blooms at morning and closes in night.... Well Good night then......

Long MC

Today is only the second day of my long MC. Still enjoying the novelty of not going to work. I wonder when will i get bored? I decided to do few things like spend half an hour a day to learn some written chinese. would do me some good. Or maybe ponder on the realities of life when my baby comes. And of course write this blog!!!!

My wife is officially due on the 15 Feb 2007. The ultrasound by the Dr. shows that it is a girl. We had decided on a name for the baby, Isabel Chin Yuan Xin. Should it turn out otherwise I guess i need to decide on another name later.

I'm going to be a father soon. What are my expectations on being a father? Well for a start, like all I wish I would have a healthy baby. Below is the ultrasound of the baby at four months (i think).

I'm Back!!!

I was discharged from SJMC yesterday after three nights in the hospital. Had my prolapsed discs operation last thursday. All when well but my right leg still feels numb. Doctor says it should recover in 6 weeks to 3 months. Ihope he is right, only time will tell.

Looking back, I felt that i made the right decision for remove my disc. The damage was on the L5 and S1 of the spine. My S1 nerve was scared by the disc hence my numbness of my right outer foot. I consier myself lucky as the nerve will heal.

On three weeks M.C. now and will have lots of time at home and waiting for my wife to deliver. Should be in the next 3 weeks.......

second post

well this is my second post after more than a month not visit my blog. had a host of problems with my back the past few weeks. i have a prolapsed dics, meaning a slip dics on my L5 and S1 vertebra. surgery is recommended by two surgeons. still thinking to go or not.

my baby will be due next month which adds to my dilemma of when to go for the surgery. i hope to tolerate the pain till then..... wish me luck!!!
